The world's hardest structures, safely removed.
Forty years of controlled implosions, heavy industrial dismantling and hazardous material management — delivered to international standards, on live sites, without downtime.
DURBAN — JOHANNESBURG — CAPE TOWN
We are an international demolition contractor operating where precision, safety and community matter most.
Founded in Durban in 1986, SA Demolishers has grown from residential deconstruction into one of the continent's most capable demolition contractors. Our teams work inside operating refineries, live airports, functioning campuses and dense urban precincts — environments where a single mistake is not an option. More than 60 professionals, over 400 completed contracts and a fleet of high-reach and specialist plant back every project we take on. We are CIDB registered, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified, and licensed by the Department of Labour for asbestos removal.
Every project is engineered before a single machine moves — method statement, exclusion zones, dust and noise control, and a recovery plan for the material we take out.

Steel Demolition
Steel behaves differently to concrete. We model load transfer before cutting, bring structures to ground safely, and process the steel for reuse — feeding the circular economy rather than landfill.

Crushing
Mobile crushing plant processes rubble where it falls, producing G5 and backfill material on site. Fewer truck movements, lower disposal cost, and a measurably smaller carbon footprint.

Earthworks
Bulk earthworks, precision excavation, grading and compaction — leaving a level, tested platform ready for the next contractor, including removal of old concrete foundations.

Asbestos Removal
Registered asbestos contractor working alongside appointed Asbestos Inspection Authorities. Full encapsulation, air monitoring, and licensed disposal — protecting our teams and the community.
Nine provinces. Three countries. One standard.
Offices in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape support contracts across South Africa, with active project delivery into the wider African continent and the Middle East. Wherever we mobilise, the method, the safety file and the reporting are identical.

Unisa Sunnyside, brought down in a live precinct
On 5 May 2024, SA Demolishers imploded the former Unisa Sunnyside campus at 243 Normaal Road, clearing the way for a new multipurpose centre serving students and the surrounding community. The structure had been vandalised over years and its integrity compromised — conventional dismantling would have meant months of exposure.
Charges were engineered floor by floor, exclusion zones agreed with the university and the city, and the collapse contained within the building's own footprint. Site clearance followed immediately, with concrete crushed on site for reuse.
